About The Work Environment

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About You

You are a whiz at credit and risk analysis with a superpower in relationship building. You are passionate and dedicated to what you do, have a roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic and a ready to hit-the-ground-running attitude. You have experience working with a diverse account portfolio in a high-pressure, deadline-driven work environment. You are extremely detail-oriented, have exceptional problem-solving skills and can work with limited direction.

About The Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of prior experience in commercial banking accounting/financial advisory or consulting.
  • University Degree in business or adjacent discipline.
  • CPA/CFA program enrollment or intention to enroll is a plus.
  • Understanding of credit and lending concepts and risk management.
  • Financial modeling experience.
  • Ability to build meaningful and trusting relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data analytics platforms, etc.

About The Day-to-day

  • Monitor financial and operational covenant compliance and prepare inputs and financial analyses as part of annual and quarterly review process for existing book of business consisting of complex, medium to large sized corporate borrowers.
  • Liaise across departments (PG credit risk, credit operations and loan administration teams) to gather information and ensure proper execution of credit instruments and loan performance.
  • Maintain and optimize asset based and specialized lending documentation & data warehouses and repositories.
  • Conduct fundamental analysis of private enterprises as part of new transactions being presented to Peoples Group investment/ credit committee, both for existing and prospective borrowers.
  • Attend client and prospect calls with the AVP or Senior Portfolio Manager as required and monitor and update deal pipeline.

Compensation

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $80,000 and $95,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
