The Student Writing Assistant in the Writing Resource Center assists fellow student writers with writing and writing strategies.
HOURS: 7-10 hours per week (with opportunities to take on more hours)
Examples of Duties
Work respectfully with all visitors regardless of background or belief
Strong communicator and listener
Work well in a stressful environment
Be excited to constantly learn something new
Be prepared to work with any style, format, or discipline of writing
Work consists of one-on-one writing meetings in the WRC, but may also include facilitating writing workshops, offering classroom support, managing social media accounts, and/or working on other projects that benefit the growth of the WRC
Filling out pre- and post-meeting paperwork, attending mandatory training, maintaining coffee and snack area, and opening and/or closing the WRC
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a registered NCF student in good academic standing at start date.
Must have satisfactorily passed the course Pedagogy in Practice/Writing Center Theory and Practice
