The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring activities are captured and transactions are accurately reflected in the ledger and financial statements. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position works in concert with all finance staff to oversee systems, controls, transactions, processes, and activities to ensure they are in compliance with GAAP, federal sponsored research policies, and Institute policy.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 3 years of public accounting and/or private industry experience, preferably in a not for profit research organization
• CPA is a plus
• Experience with software packages is plus (Oracle Cloud)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attentive to detail
• Works independently with minimal supervision
• Take ownership of tasks and follow-up as necessary
• Able to download and manipulate data in Excel
• Strong reconciliation skills
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced and challenging environment, and with all levels of institute staff
