This role can be based in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Austin, Boston, New York or Washington, D.C.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets and regularly review budget processes to make recommendations for efficiency and ease of reporting.
  • Prepare monthly variance reports and collaborate with Finance to ensure GL charges are accurate and to facilitate reclassification of charges as needed.
  • Work with Finance to track and coordinate charging database costs to clients, including proactively reviewing and correcting inaccurate client/matter numbers.
  • Prepare monthly Bloomberg Law, Lexis, and Westlaw usage dashboards.
  • Prepare for and lead a weekly budget update meeting with the Director of Research Services and the other Research Services managers.
  • Working with Research Services Coordinators - Tech, acquire and maintain credentials for research online resources.
  • Prepare insightful and visually effective graphs, charts, and dashboards as requested.
  • Working with Research Services Coordinators - Tech, claim missing/overdue serials.
  • Working with the Research Services Coordinators - Tech, order MoFo Bookstore titles, order, and track receipt of new Research Services purchases, and renew subscriptions.
  • Coordinate the invoice payment processes with vendors, Finance, and Research Services staff.
  • Working with the Research Services Coordinators - Tech, cancel and return unwanted publications. Track and follow-up on refunds.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with vendors to promote responsive services. Prepare budget data and update costs analysis for continuation of services.
  • Regularly assess value of ongoing services through usage data, service objectives, user feedback, and cost objectives.
  • Create efficiencies within established vendor accounts to meet Research Services objectives, e.g., through centralization of subscriptions.
  • Consistently promote and model the Firm's Client Service Principles in teamwork, work product, and personal interaction.
  • Ensure exemplary client service to all internal and external clients; proactively promote client service throughout department and among teams; respond to peer requests with recognition that request serves a client or Firm need.
  • Ensure compliance with the Firm's Confidentiality Policy, including safeguarding confidential and personal information, and reporting any suspected breach appropriately and immediately.
  • Adhere to the Firm’s General Safety Practices and any unique safety practices for department and building.


ABOUT YOU

  • Four-year college degree.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work product.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective internal and external client relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to take an assignment from inception to completion with minimal supervision or by following broad guidelines. A highly proactive, solution-oriented approach to work and interactions
  • Ability to apply effective independent judgment, to perceive and analyze problems and develop responsive solutions.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel and ability to create effective spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting dashboard software.
  • Ability to multi-task, to set and meet priorities, and to plan work to meet deadlines.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.


New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto salary range: $55k to $81k

Los Angeles, San Diego salary range: $50k to $76k

Denver salary range: $48k to $72k
