We're seeking a Process Safety - Associate Engineer to work with a major LNG company located in Cameron, LA on a permanent basis.

This role reports to the Manager, Process Safety and will be responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Support process safety management elements such as MOC, PSSR, PHA, building siting, process design.
  • Provide support on the communication of process safety risks.
  • Day to day support of Process Safety Barrier Health reporting.
  • Attend Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and assist in managing associated action items.
  • Assist in the management of process safety event (PSE) investigations.
  • Support assessments in the following processes:
  • Car sealing
  • Procedures – initial start-up and SOP and red line revisions
  • Process Safety Events
  • Permit to Work
  • SIMOPs
  • Inhibits / Bypasses
  • Safety Critical Element management
  • Pre-startup Safety Reviews
  • Monitoring process safety metrics and analyzing data to identify trends and outliers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process or Mechanical Engineering. Based on experience, other Engineering disciplines will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience working as an Engineer in a process plant environment would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of process safety.
  • Engineering graduates with a demonstrable passion to pursue a career in process safety would be considered.
  • Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
