Follow established safe work practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Packs spools of ribbon or bags bows. May put filled bow bags through the sealers. May apply labels to product. May pack pot liners, Valentines, packages, acetate products or other manufactured items.
Pulls defective bows from the bag(s) or defective spools from packing area and replaces them with quality product. Sorts out bad bows or substandard ribbon spools when hand packing.
Counts product according to specifications on count charts, recording results and notifying mechanic of under counts and repeated over counts. Checks sheets on chutes to see that correct bags, cartons and labels are being used
Labels, erects, tapes and packs cartons, according to order specifications, in both bow bag and ribbon packing areas
Assembles, combines, seals, and/or performs any other necessary operation in packing
Load finished product on skids
Report to line stockers any problems or situations that require attention
Keeps work area neat and clean
Follows company and department safety policies and procedures and good housekeeping practices
Requesting supplies as needed to maintain production
Working safely
Other responsibilities as required
Required Experience
Ability to read, write and do basic math
Proven ability to maintain acceptable production rates and produce quality products
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Good communication and cooperation with coworkers and supervisors
Receptiveness to overtime required in department
Acceptable attendance record and proven paperwork accuracy
