JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The HR Coordinator provides vital support to the College of Dentistry by facilitating the hiring and onboarding processes for new faculty, staff, volunteers, and visiting scholars. This position serves as a key support for employee relations, ensuring adherence to university policies and procedures.
Duties And Responsibilities
Serves as liaison between hiring manager and human resources to facilitate job postings, application review, interview processes, and documentation of selected candidates.
Assists with the preparation of new position descriptions as well as updating of existing position descriptions and reclassification packets.
Collaborates with appropriate departmental and campus personnel to provide search committees with appropriate necessary resources to ensure all requisitions meet OAC standards for faculty and executive-level positions.
Oversees onboarding process for all new hires and serve as point of contact for any new hire related questions or concerns.
Assists the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs with all on-boarding procedures for new or returning dental faculty. Generates PIFs for newly hired faculty members.
Collaborates with campus employee relations to serve as a mediator for conflicts or concerns within departments, between individuals, employees and supervisors, and peers.
Ensures probationary evaluations are completed and submitted within the scheduled probationary period timeframe.
Supports managers and supervisors in creating and developing disciplinary documents such as performance improvement plans, letters of expectation, letters of warning, and final warning letters.
Manages the hiring, onboarding procedures, terminations, and exit clearances for volunteers, visitors, and friends of UTHSC.
Ensures time reports are accurately submitted for faculty and staff who are on FMLA and on annual/sick leave prior to retirement or termination.
Assists the accounting assistants with entering terminations and exit clearances for graduating D4 student assistant workers.
Provides guidance and information to the College of Dentistry staff and faculty regarding the annual performance review process.
EXPERIENCE: One ( 1) year of related experience as indicated above; OR a combination of related education and work experience to equal six (6) years. (Experience in healthcare is preferred.)
