Your Role

The Design Technology Lead – Visualization Platforms is a key position in the Southwest region Design Technology studio. We are seeking a talented digital artist that possess the technical knowledge of industry standard visualization software and pipelines, as well as demonstrate a commitment to creativity, research, and innovation. With a passion for communicating design through computer graphics, you will collaborate with project teams and other visualization leads across the firm to deliver sophisticated and compelling visuals.

Capitalize on the achievements of our practitioners in the region by working closely with them and your fellow studio members to drive the visualization roadmap and make VR/AR ubiquitous and part of our common language.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate to the Visualization Platforms strategy for the region.
  • Development, implementation and support of visualization tools and framework, including a robust and agile virtual reality / augmented reality strategy.
  • Work closely with design teams to interpret their designs intent into compelling, high quality, computer generated images.
  • Modeling/Texturing/Lighting/Cameras/Rendering/Post-Production for architectural and interior design scenes.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize 3D scenes for production rendering pipeline.
  • Operate as the lead 3D artist on stills, animation, and real-time projects.
  • Ability to execute high quality images under tight deadlines without sacrificing artistry or attention to detail.
  • Elevate our visualization pipeline through the exploration of new tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with Regional Design Technology Director on requirements and priorities.
  • Research emerging technologies and define use-cases for implementation on projects.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk 3ds Max, V-Ray, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD/Rhino/Sketchup/Enscape/Twinmotion
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity
  • Strong foundation of visual storytelling, look development, lighting/camera composition
  • Knowledge of distributed rendering, batch rendering, and render farm job management. i.e. Deadline
  • Experience with multi-pass compositing and linear workflow
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver a high-quality product
  • Works well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, as well as individually based on the project needs
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication and time management skills
  • Experience working in Architecture or related industries, with detailed knowledge of project processes, milestones and deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver effective training and provide ongoing education and technological support to project teams

  • This is not a remote position. The successful candidate is expected to be in the office.*
  • The base salary range will be estimated between $110,000 - $130,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
