Commercial HVAC Installer/Service Technician

Perfection Group is searching for a skilled Commercial HVAC Installer/Service Technician in the Indianapolis, IN and surrounding areas. This is a hybrid install/service position, with the main focus being on installations.

Salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.

A Commercial HVAC Installer/Service Technician Will:

• Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
• Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
• Discuss heating or cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that repairs corrected malfunctions.
• Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers.
• Connect heating or air conditioning equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form complete circuit.
• Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components.
• Install auxiliary components to heating or cooling equipment, such as expansion or discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, or stokers.
• Lay out and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Install and test automatic, programmable, or wireless thermostats in residential or commercial buildings to minimize energy usage for heating or cooling.
• Adjust system controls to settings recommended by manufacturer to balance system.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot diverse service issues, repair and PM heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units, including but not limited to chillers, boilers, roof top units, split systems, and heat pumps.
• Obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems.
• Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other unusual occurrences on work orders.
• Be available to work nights and weekends on a rotating basis to service the emergency needs of our customers.
• Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with both superiors and co-workers.
• Participate in company and/or vendor provided training opportunities.
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area and company vehicle.
• Maintain required documentation, reporting and data on a timely basis.
  
  
  

A Qualified HVAC Installer/Service Technician Will Have:

• Universal EPA Certification
• Journeyman License preferred but not required
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience preferred
