Job Description

We are recruiting for a Mental Health Employment Specialist who will work closely with job seekers and employed customers who have mental health challenges to securing and sustaining employment across the Salford region.

You will work with a fluctuating caseload of customers to identify the various barriers to employment which they possess. You will complete an in-depth diagnostic and create mutually agreed SMART action plans which will help each customer to gain new skills and confidence on their path in to sustainable employment, or to help those currently off sick to return to work after a long-term absence.

You will meet your customers on a regular basis, at each intervention you will review progress and identify new initiatives/programmes. Throughout your engagement you will focus on increasing skills, self-worth and confidence and you will help your customers to apply for jobs, prepare for interviews and ultimately secure employment. Once employment is secured, you will provide in-work support to ensure any problems are overcome and the employment sustains.

We are seeking applicants who currently work with job seekers, or you will have transferable skills in providing advice, guidance and support to customers seeking to gain new skills/abilities to increase their confidences and personal skillset.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
