The Manager of Learning and Development plays a critical role in the organization by overseeing the development and implementation of training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees. They are responsible for identifying training needs, designing curriculum, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with the company's goals.
Key responsibilities
Develop and implement learning strategies and programs that align with the organization's objectives and support employee development.
Identify training needs through job analysis, performance appraisals, and consultation with managers.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and deliver engaging, effective training materials, including e-learning courses, workshops, and other learning resources.
Manage the learning management system (LMS) to track employee progress and ensure compliance with training requirements.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and key performance indicators, and make recommendations for improvements.
Lead a team of training professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance management to ensure high-quality training delivery.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in learning and development to continually enhance the training programs.
Collaborate with HR and departmental managers to ensure training initiatives align with organizational needs and priorities.
Manage the training budget, resources, and external training vendors to optimize the use of resources and achieve cost-effective training solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development programs in a corporate setting.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve learning and development objectives.
Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and learning technologies.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other training delivery platforms.
Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees, managers, and external training providers.
Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve training effectiveness.
Certifications such as CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) or similar credentials are a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to drive change and innovation in the learning and development function.
