Leading a Team of In-House Legal Recruiters - Director @ Beacon Legal - Qualified Lawyer

Beacon Legal is on the lookout for a Graduate Candidate Manager or Recruitment Consultant to join its growing in-house division. This is a full time role, so would suit a recent graduate looking for an entry into the corporate market. The role will likely start as a Candidate Manager with a clear progression pathway to a Junior Consultant position.

About Beacon Legal

Beacon Legal is a recruitment and career consultancy for the legal industry. We combine legal qualifications and experience with recruitment management to provide a bespoke service to candidates and clients. We have offices in London, Brisbane and Sydney and we provide services in key international markets.

We currently have 23 team members across Australia and London. We are the Australian market leader and are continuing to grow our team and market share. We will do this whilst enhancing our reputation as a reliable, credible and specialist legal recruitment business, which mirrors the professionalism of our clients.

Our in-house team services a diverse client base across a range of industries. Some of the world's most recognisable brands are long-standing clients of our in-house division.

What can we offer you?

Beacon Legal prides itself on its culture. We all enjoy coming to work every day. We all collaborate together and support each other. We work hard to achieve results for our clients and candidates, and celebrate success within the team. We have a lot to offer potential applicants, including:

  • A fun and high-performance culture in Sydney CBD.
  • Training in all areas of recruitment from seasoned, proven legal recruiters.
  • Team incentives such as lunches, drinks, away days etc..
  • Scope for career progression as the company continues to grow.
  • More favourable hours than the lawyers you'll be placing!
  • Strong remuneration package. Generally, a high performing legal recruiter will earn more than if they were a lawyer at the same level, which is what we aim for.
  • Employee Share Option Plan so you can benefit from the continuing growth and success of the business.

What will the role involve?

You'll be playing a pivotal role in the growth of our in-house recruitment practice. It's an exciting time to be joining the in-house division as we look to further establish our reputation as the leading specialist in-house recruitment team in the country.

Your work will include the following:

  • Engaging in correspondence and meeting with lawyers in a professional manner to develop your candidate pool of active and passive candidates.
  • Write, post and monitor job adverts on Job Boards and LinkedIn.
  • Qualifying candidates to fit job briefs, sourcing interested and suitable candidates and submitting their details for jobs.
  • Attending candidate meetings, lunches and events.
  • Hitting targets, both financial and non-financial, to develop yours and the company's reputation to achieve success.
  • Attending job briefings (alongside a Consultant) with our established client base. You will regularly participate in VC and face to face meetings with HR team members and General Counsels from a range of domestic and international businesses.
  • Working as part of a team to help your colleagues, just as they will help you.

What are we looking for?

To be successful as an in-house legal Recruitment Consultant or Candidate Manager, you need to be motivated, sales-focussed, results-driven and committed to building your own business WITHIN the organisation. You will take ownership of your work, and be given the freedom (with the necessary support) to build your own candidate network and client base.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who:

  • Have exceptional organisational and planning skills.
  • Operate with a 'sales' mindset. The role will require you to be on the phone and 'pitching' roles to candidates. You also need to be comfortable with clear KPIs and call targets.
  • Pride themselves on maintaining valuable client and candidate relationships. As a business, we view relationships as paramount.
  • Can confidently present themselves in front of senior stakeholders, including General Counsels and HR leaders.
  • Are good listeners, resilient, empathetic and have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Pride themselves on being self-motivated and hard-working.
  • Are interested in working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Don’t take themselves too seriously, and can have a laugh whilst working hard to achieve results.
