Presidio Knolls School (PKS) is a San Francisco independent school with almost 400 students enrolled in preschool through eighth grade. Position
We are seeking excellent candidates for Middle School Volleyball Coach. We seek coaches that are high energy, skilled, organized, and good leaders who can create a positive atmosphere in which our student athletes can thrive. We seek a coach who is enthusiastic about building our 5-8th Grade Co-Ed Volleyball program. Previous coaching and/or playing experience is required; experience playing at a college level or higher, as well as coaching volleyball preferred. This is a part-time, non-exempt position, reporting to the Head of Middle School.
Responsibilities
Run practices from 2:45-3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, starting the week of 9/2 and running through the week of 11/11.
Coach approximately 20 games (JV and V)
Ability to develop and execute practice and game plans for all playing positions
Follow SFIAL volleyball rules and regulation
Foster training in conduct, ethics, and sports-person-ship for all participants and coaches
Supervision of the team before, during and after practices, games and sporting events
Responsible for the distribution and collection of all uniforms and equipment and providing an end of the season inventory
Work with the MS Head, and other admin and faculty as needed to solve problems at the school level while supporting the ideas of the program/parent concern procedures
Continually reviews the ongoing effectiveness of the program at all levels

Understanding the developmental needs of students and how they learn best
Requires demonstrated and direct experience using a wide range of techniques
Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative
Must have excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work well with students and adults
Must be a role model and maintain a high level of professionalism
Experience with independent schools is strongly preferred
Must be willing to get: First Aid and CPR Certification, Concussion Training & Fundamentals of Coaching Certification.
Physical Requirements
Regularly lifting or carrying 20-50 lbs
Regular pushing/pulling/bending/stooping/kneeling
Regularly sitting or standing multiple hours
Requires physical presence, work to be performed on campus and at volleyball games in San Francisco
Compensation - $30 - $35 per hour expected 60 hours from August 27 to November 30.
