Full Stack Developer (.Net) – Merchandising Systems

Function

Analysis, design, development and delivery of applications using the components of .Net programming. Focus is on the best use of resources, people and technology in the execution of mission of Bealls Inc. and the merchandizing division. In addition, the .Net developer provides support to customers on application issues and problems. Flexibility is essential, as is the ability to adapt with the changing needs of the business.

Interaction

  • Reports to the Senior Manager, Development.
  • Works with the Tech lead, Project Manager, Business Analyst, QA, Support Analysts and Information Services team.
  • Willing to mentor Junior developers.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [Essential Functions]:

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and develop the following: use cases, mockups, business rules, workflows, test plans, deployment plans, & post-change evaluations
  • Application Design, construction and deployment of enterprise projects
  • Collaborates and develops test scripts to test software for compliance within technical specifications for specific projects or tasks.
  • Work to develop and modify software specific to a project or tasks according to technical specifications.
  • Support customers by troubleshooting and maintain existing systems to resolve problems as they arise.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Keeps up to date with technical and industry developments.
  • Communicate and follow-up in a manner that keeps all team members and impacted customers informed in a timely fashion.
  • Develops and fosters excellent working relationships with customers and coworkers.
  • Supports and develops team members by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities
  • Provide and foster continuous and consistent positive communication with internal and cross-functional teams.
  • Completes their assigned task according to standards, procedures, and adherence to required source controls for IS department.
  • Uses the project management life cycle.
  • Will assist in providing emergency support as part of incident response team for critical business processes as needed which may include nights/weekends/holidays as skills increase.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and report any issues to appropriate leadership.
  • Ensure all administrative duties are performed accurately and timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher degree in Computer Science, IT field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum ten years’ experience in software development.
  • Education and/or internships in Software development profession preferred.
  • Critical thinking, detail orientated, agile, and creative with time management and possesses excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Thrives in a team environment but also works independently, when needed, and has the ability multi-task as necessary.
  • Creative and self-motivated with commitment to excellent service standards in a fast-paced environment; flexible in accommodating rapid change; and effective when working under pressure.
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
  • Proficiency with C#, ASP.NET and ASP.NET Core server-side framework.
  • Develop scalable, and maintainable web applications using the MVC framework.
  • Create RESTful Web APIs
  • Experience with Entity Framework Core, code first migrations, lambda expressions and LINQ.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and SOLID principles.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of JavaScript & jQuery
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for web application and API security.
  • Ability to write optimized SQL Server queries and commands using T-SQL.
  • Comfortable with Agile Methodologies and DevOps procedures.
  • Experience with Azure, especially Web Apps, Azure SQL, and Azure Functions.
  • Experience performing code reviews and developing unit tests.
  • Application Performance Tuning and optimization
  • Experience with Postman and other Unit Testing Tools

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ASP.NET Core, Web API, MVC, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, T-SQL.
  • Positive attitude and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work within a team environment, including local and offshore members.
  • Must be highly organized, set clear goals and expectations for the team and follow progress against goals.
  • Experience in a retail environment is a plus.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and written, with developers, product owners, vendors, management, and other associates.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information one-on-one and in small group situations to managers, team leaders, vendors, and other associates of the organization.
