Job Summary

CSA Group has an immediate opportunity for a Field Evaluation Representative (m/f/d) based in Milan, Paris or Germany to join their European Field Evaluations and Verifications and to provide services to clients in Italy and throughout Europe.

As a one-time evaluation program, CSA Group’s field evaluation services help manufacturers get their products into the North American market when certification is not a viable option yet proof of compliance to local requirements is still needed.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical evaluations of non-certified equipment at manufacturing sites or in the field to ensure compliance with technical requirements and safety standards, mitigating fire and shock hazards.
  • Schedule inspection appointments with clients professionally, discuss costing procedures, address inquiries, and provide technical guidance tailored to the Field Evaluation program's scope.
  • Review technical drawings submitted for evaluation and provide feedback.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports outlining necessary alterations for sub-standard equipment, and discuss corrective measures with clients.
  • Conduct inspections on cutting-edge technology or complex products, making authoritative technical decisions as needed.
  • Assist in job quoting by integrating technical data and considering time and travel logistics.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency to evaluate diverse products independently or with technical team support.
  • Manage multiple inspection files and dynamic schedules under supervision.
  • Utilize calibrated measurement instruments, high voltage test equipment, and hand tools proficiently.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and test data accurately.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Apply strong conflict resolution skills to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Proficiency in English language, with knowledge of additional European languages like Italian, being advantageous. Your qualification:

What We Expect

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Sciences with 3 years industry experience; or
  • Engineering Technology or Associates Degree with 5 years industry related experience; or
  • Journeyman Electrician with 5 years industry related experience; or related technical field with 7 years industry related experience
  • Certification / Lab Testing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, as well as general laboratory procedures.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian based electrical standards and ability to apply these standards to local installation requirements and/or codes (eg. NEC, CEC, NFPA 790 & 791, SPE-1000, and SPE-3000)

Travel

  • Ability to travel as needed and/or with short notice (up to 75% travel)
