Our client is seeking a Controller to join its accounting and finance team. The Controller leads a team that offers a wide variety of financial reporting, operational accounting, procurement and travel services to the organization. This role has the opportunity to participate in the development of optimum solutions for business challenges in a collaborative environment, as well as set strategic direction for the company. This position will be hybrid and located in Pennsylvania.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and develop a high performing team in support of current and future talent needs within the accounting function.
Uphold GAAP and SAP based accounting polices and procedures.
Maintain the internal control environment by ensuring compliance with key internal control procedures.
Produce complete, accurate and timely GAAP and SAP based financial statements, including consolidations and financial based regulatory compliance reports.
Provide various financial analysis in support of current or planned business objectives and strategies, as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business
10 years of directly related experience
Leadership experience within the property and casualty insurance space
Working knowledge of reinsurance contracts and their accounting implications, as well as federal income taxation of property and casualty insurers
Advanced knowledge of technology used by insurer businesses and financial systems
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, practices and standards
