Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to join a specialist school near Bovington/Wool, Dorset. We are currently seeking an Outreach Support Worker and/or Youth Worker to join this school on a full-time basis.
Experience in a school or education based setting is preferred but not necessary. You must have a full UK Driving License and transport.
The School is specialised in educating pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The pupils come from a variety of backgrounds and either have an Education Health Care Plan (ECHP) or are undergoing statutory assessment.
The school support young people to develop their emotional well-being and social skills. As an Outreach Support Worker/Youth Worker you will support the school to develop students to cope better with the things they find challenging whether this is during their school day or at home.
Applicants will be working predominately off-site supporting pupils with emotional well-being, social and life skills with the aim of building confidence to reintegrate into the school and their peers and then continue that support in school.
They are looking for individuals that are passionate about developing a career and will be willing to put you through training, including teaching training for dedicated members of the team.
The successful Outreach Support Worker/Youth Worker will help establish positive and healthy relationships, emotional well-being and developing social skills. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is fancying a change in career or if you have a keen interest in alternative education.
We are looking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about providing the highest standards of care and facilitating opportunities for learning. Previous experience of looking after children would be an advantage however a can-do attitude and commitment to the children and your team is equally as important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

- Support a child with SEMH needs and help them reach their potential in a professional and caring manner
- Be reliable and punctual when working individually in the community or when part of a team and supporting colleagues to do their jobs
- Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, music and more
- Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people
- Keep records and write reports when required
- Always ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding
