About The Role

It is an exciting time to be joining the UCL HR Business Partnering team. We have recently gone through a small review to further enhance our business partnering offer to our faculties and professional services divisions. In doing this we have embedded a new entry-level role of Associate HR Business Partner into each of our HRBP teams. This role also introduces a new career pathway within HR business partnering and signals the start of a fulfilling and rewarding career for members of our team.

We are hiring an Associate HR Business Partner to provide support across the Faculties of Social & Historical Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Laws and the Institute of Education.

This role requires to support the implementation of people focused initiatives and activities within the client group. The postholder will work closely with local HR-focused staff within the client group and with Business Partners from across the HR Business Partnering team.

We are operating hybrid working within the HR Division and you will have the opportunity to work remotely for up to 3 days a week if you wish. You must be available to work on site on Mondays and one other day of the week.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with experience of advising and handling a range of complex HR issues (e.g. disciplinaries, grievances, change management, TUPE).The successful HR professional will have the ability to work effectively in a Human Resources environment of a complex organisation. They will have outstanding organisational skills and used to provide high quality HR administrative support. They will have a track record of providing high quality advice to managers on a range of HR policies, procedures and HR best practice.

We are also looking for an HR professional with experience of designing and delivering training workshops on HR related topics. We are looking for a calibre who can build and develop effective working relationships with managers and staff, which will allow the role holder to give day to day HR advice and guidance to managers and staff and have an impact in influencing and supporting managers to achieve their local and the corporate objectives.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Someone Who Can Evidence Strong Alignment To The Person Specification, As Well As Evidence Experience And Expertise In The Following Areas

  • The provision of reactive line manager support and advice, including employee relations and data analysis for their client group
  • Supporting the management of organisational change processes
  • Co-ordinating and undertaking job evaluation/grading.
  • Designing and jointly delivering individual or group workshops on HR procedures and policies
