The Summer & After School Program Worker is a member of the after school, vacation and summer programs. The Summer & After School Program Worker is responsible to provide a productive, interactive and safe environment for Out of School Time program participants, and are expected to be engaged with children at all times. Summer & After School Program Workers are not only responsible to plan activities but also to actively participate in all program activities. The Summer & After School Program Worker will work in collaboration with other Leaders regarding planning of program schedule, activities and all aspects of programming. The Summer & After School Program Worker is responsible for providing the highest quality of care by implementing a nurturing, caring, safe and structured environment for children to thrive and succeed.

Programming
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilitate/co-facilitate group therapy and experiential activities daily. Responsible for planning, preparation, and participation in activities; maintaining a consistent and predictable schedule and therapeutic structure.
Valued member of treatment team meetings and discussions about youth progress; contribute to understanding/interventions for effective outcomes.
Direct supervision of and engagement with children at all times, including supporting children with their academic, behavioral, social, emotional growth.
Ensure the physical and emotional well-being and safety of the children served.
Provide behavioral and physical intervention in line with agency training and philosophy.
Transportation of clients to and from the Program and to off campus, community-based activities
Responsible for monitoring cleanliness and appearance of the after-school classrooms and van
Administration
Complete serious incident and restraint reports as required, follow protocols to inform the Program Manager and/or Director Of Out Of School Time
Responsible for completing daily shift reports.
Prepare and/or assist in generating behavioral reports in all required formats.
Ensure efficient and timely record keeping.
Essential Qualifications
Commitment to highest quality of care
Flexibility with hours pertaining to seasonal shifts (vacation and summer camp)
Patience, empathy, compassion
Minimum of 12 months experience working with children, families, educators, and care team
Ability to understand and implement agency treatment philosophy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Collaborative approach with others including respectful and boundaried interactions with coworkers, children, families and providers
Consistent and strong attention to detail and accuracy; Superior organizational skills
Knowledge of standard office equipment: E-Mail, Microsoft Word, Excel
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
Comfort transporting youth for off-grounds field trips
Confidence and comfort in responding to emergency situations quickly and safely; Maintains calm and can perform in a stressful and fast paced environment
Sound and appropriate judgment
Discretion regarding confidentiality of clients/their histories, families, and co-workers
Strong ability to model, teach and support youth
Flexibility in action, thinking and scheduling
Extremely reliable
Strong ability to accept and give critical feedback
Follow up and follow through on tasks, able to prioritize
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and adhere to deadlines
Ability to bend, reach, stand, and lift up to 75 pounds
BA Degree in education, human services or related field preferred
