Water Resources Engineer

Job Description:

This individual would have the opportunity to work on all aspects of the Water Resources team services offerings.

Technical Design Opportunities

Design all types of SWM facilities, including, but not limited to, bioretentions, green roofs, permeable pavements, stormwater ponds, manufactured treatment devices, and underground detention facilities in support of land development projects.

Develop and execute stormwater operation and maintenance programs for entities owning large SWM assets

Model and analyze local and FEMA floodplains for existing conditions and proposed alteration condition studies.

This includes the opportunity to design large culvert/bridge crossings

Analyze and permit state regulated dams, including dam breach inundation studies, operation and maintenance permitting, alteration permits, emergency action plan development and execution, annual dam inspections, and other dam related activities.

•Production of final construction documents

•Conduct site visits

•Develop local and state permit applications

•Prepare technical reports

•Research regulatory codes, manuals, and standards

•Communicate effectively with team members

•Perform other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

•All experience levels are encouraged to apply

•Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or similar degree

•Strong mathematical/analytical skills

•Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills

•Strong quality control skills and attention to detail

•Proficiency with AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications:

•Engineer-in-Training

•Proficiency with ArcMap, or similar

•Proficiency with H & H modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, Flowmaster, HEC-1, TR-20
