Pay Range: $86,603.00 - $115,637.00

The Creative Services Manager works with NBT Marketing leadership and team in managing and developing the NBT brand. This position ensures creative expertise for design development across all creative services, including web, video, print, and digital design. The position manages the design team and creative service vendors to ensure brand standards are understood, executed according to brand guidelines, projects are designed on time, and project requirements are met. The Creative Services Manager continually strives for design excellence through staying abreast of creative marketing trends, training, and managing the team to success.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years design or relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience in design, video, digital, social, and print production
  • Working knowledge of Macintosh operating systems, Adobe Creative Suite (iCloud) Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous supervisory and management experience a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Manages, develops, and motivates the Creative Services team to be a source of additive value to the marketing team.
  • Manages the creative services development process, team members, and external resources to ensure deadlines are met for NBT and all its brands. Prioritizes work across CS team to manage competing deadlines and projects.
  • Provides leadership on technical creative projects spanning cross functional teams, especially CS and Systems.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains productive relationships with outside agencies and vendors.
  • Leads the optimization of creative services through team training, identifying trends and CS efficiencies while maintaining quality.
  • Project management skills: ability to prioritize, delegate and track multiple projects to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills across print, online and environmental (large format) platforms.
  • Ability to set meaningful goals for employee development, train, motivate employee(s) and measure success.
  • Willingness to learn new SAS platforms to produce creative in-house as deemed necessary.

Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Availability to travel to printers as needed for project approvals on press.
  • Ability to use production tools/machines for in-house preparation of marketing materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Tasks Performed:

  • 25% Brand Management: Develop and maintain brand standards and guidelines. Work directly with partners vendors to ensure understanding and adherence to brand standards. Continued focus on brand design improvement and evolution, utilizing input from Marketing and Executive leadership.
  • 25% Design: Manage and develop creative design for current and new and emerging channels. Manage the creative services team in quality design standards. Maintain continuous improvement in technology, creativity, processes, training, and collaboration. Be able to present to vendor and business partners as needed.
  • 25% Project Management: Prioritize, organize, schedule, and track delivery of projects handled by creative services staff and external vendor partners; maintain project records; ensure digital files are regularly archived; develop strong partnerships vendor partners to ensure good relations, quality products and services, negotiating competitive rates; maintain Online Marketing Resource Center.
  • 15% Supervision: Supervises, trains, mentors and develops creative services staff; provide guidance and coaching for professional development to ensure positive employee engagement and job satisfaction. Manages the creative services team to quality standards and on-time deliverables.
  • 5% Technology: Manage maintenance of design computers/software, printers and production equipment; communicate and troubleshoot with associated vendors as needed. Ensure the creative services team and marketing department has the proper functioning equipment to continue high performance.
  • 5% Perform other duties as assigned
