Job Description

The CNC Operator position is responsible for producing quality heat exchanger components by programing, preparing, and operating a variety of computer numerical controlled (CNC) machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Complete hole making, boring, and turning operations by programming instructions, including zero coordinate, reference points, speeds, feeds, and conditional limits.
• Calculate requirements, including basic math and geometry.
• Check measurements and allowable tolerances as dictated by blueprints or schematics.
• Handle materials utilizing overhead cranes and motorized lift trucks.
  
  

Competencies

• Required
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments, including measuring tapes, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and dial test indicators.
• Safely handle material utilizing overhead cranes and motorized lift trucks.
• Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to learn new processes and equipment.
• Safely operate hand / power tools.
• Capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with a team.
• This position requires constant mobility. Personnel need to be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Preferred
• Technical computer skills (Microsoft Office; Gmail Platform).
• Knowledge of heat exchangers.
• Experience operating manual machinery.
  
  

Education/Experience:

• High-school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience.
