Senior Engineering Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. The work model for the role is: - onsite This role is contributing to the Process Automation - Process Industries division in India. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Manage hardware engineering team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective and timely engineering solutions to customers.
• Formulate plan, allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. Initiate, coordinate, drive and oversee team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.
• Ensures development of performance targets in line with global/local targets and their achievement through regular oversight, defining required actions for improvement.
• Actively embraces and implements ABB Values, HSE, Integrity, Diversity & Inclusion and other people related strategies within the local engineering unit / team.Prioritizes, engages team, and implements actions from the engagement survey.
• Leads, supervises, and coordinates teams in all disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects of medium complexity. Leads single or multi-discipline engineering teams with 5 - 25 resources.
• Evaluates risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of one's engineering projects/programs.
• Supports the Project Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments, and implementation of resulting actions.
• Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
• Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.
• Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
• Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.
• Defines project tasks and ensures allocation of these tasks among project team members.
• Defines schedule, cost, and quality metrics.Coordinates the creation of work plans and cost estimates in all applicable engineering disciplines.
  
  
  

Qualifications For The Role

• Highly skilled in continual improvement projects to enhance engineering efficiency through standardization and effective utilization of engineering tools across all markets.
• Demonstrates 8 to 13 years of experience in Automation - Hardware Engineering.
• Possesses extensive knowledge of Automation hardware engineering.
• Passionate about team management and stakeholder management.
• Holds an engineering degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, or Instrumentation.
• Comfortable communicating in written and verbal English
