Primary Functions:
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of statistical and ML models and tools
- Collaborates with COE team and business owners to take a data-driven approach in identifying key customer pain-points, uncover insights, and develop techniques to address these issues.
- Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders informed by robust statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and report results to leadership team.
- Standup analytics for Delta’s new personalization experiences and deliver cadenced reporting for current experiences.
- Build, calibrate and enhance existing models, and monitor model performance.
- Leverage emerging technologies and identify efficient and meaningful ways to deliver meaningful insights to the business.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, mathematics, or related field 5-7 years of relevant work experience required.
- Master's degree and 4 years proven experience in data science or machine learning.
- Ability to translate business problem to a prediction or optimization problem.
- Strong knowledge of regression methods, supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Working knowledge of forecasting and causal inference methods
- Strong foundations with optimal data querying/modeling with SQL (CTE, Window functions etc.)
- Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, R or SAS) and deep knowledge of analytical packages and libraries
- Nice to have experience in linear programming and non-linear optimization methods.
- Must possess strong business acumen, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- Candidate should be known for integrity, intelligence, and professional maturity.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment in a creative and innovative fashion.
- Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS):
- Experience in instrumenting ML solutions in AWS (e.g., Sagemaker)
- Experience building uplift modeling.
- Prior experience with Delta or other airline or Hospitality data a plus
- Experience collaborating with a global team.
- Intensely curious about finding a solution to the pain-points of our customers along the entire travel experience.
