Quality Engineer

We are searching for a Quality Engineer to join our team. The Quality Engineer will uphold and enhance product quality standards across various manufacturing areas. With a focus on continuous improvement, the role involves defining quality goals, conducting audits, and implementing Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, contributing to Fender's legacy of producing iconic instruments with precision and excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Helping to define and continuously revise the quality goals of the areas of responsibility
  • Keeping track of the performance of the areas of responsibility and report the results to the management team and personnel involved
  • Ensuring that the actions required to improve the quality performance of the areas of responsibility are taken and sustained through time
  • Coordinating the process audits in the areas of responsibility
  • Documenting and reporting audits results and follow-up closure of non-conformances found
  • Working with marketing and R&D in the revision or definition of the quality criteria for the products produced in the areas of responsibility
  • Ensuring proper use of the Quality module in SAP
  • Working towards the execution of projects to improve yield in the areas of responsibility using the DMAIC methodology
  • Leading, Coaching, and participating in A3 Problem Solving projects
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • B/S degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or a related field of study, or the equivalent level of professional experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of manufacturing experience with background in either woodworking, industrial painting or electronics with at least three (3) years working within Quality.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish to ensure understanding on the shop floor and within various levels of management.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in the use of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies is HIGHLY desirable.
  • Measuring skills and experience utilizing inspection tools to obtain accurate dimensional measurements on a variety of parts, components and raw material; calipers, micrometer, scales, digital multi-meter, hand tools, soldering equipment, electronic test equipment, heat gauge, among others.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Green Belt / Black Belt a plus

The pay scale for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that Fender considers in making compensation decisions, including, without limitation: skill set, experience, and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work. Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $61,480.00 to $80,000 per year.
