This is what you will do:

The Health Informatics Lead is a field-based resource that works with Marketing, SAL and account-based teams. The person in this role will possess subject matter expertise in Health Information Technology (HIT), including Electronic Health Records, and possess the teamwork and leadership skills necessary to facilitate education, solution development and implementation. This person will be responsible for working with internal teams to manage EHR initiatives across the portfolio and will work directly with external customers to ensure appropriate and effective operationalization of products within the customers EHR.

Key Customers could include:


  • Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and Hospitals
  • Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)
  • Critical Access Hospitals (CAH)
  • Medical Practice Groups


The Health Informatics role supports brand teams and account team advance knowledge and appropriate operationalization of Alexion RDU/AstraZeneca products at key customer accounts.

You will be responsible for:


  • Serve to facilitate the advancement and appropriate adoption of health information technology and processes relating to Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Align internal resources, create plans and deliver support to key customers/segments depending on customer and product needs.
  • Complete needs assessment with Account Team and Institutional customers.
  • Share insights with applicable Client stakeholders.
  • Educate health systems directly on-boarding and integrating Alexion RDU/AstraZeneca products into their EHR.
  • Educate customer on EHR reporting that can assist in identifying potential clinically appropriate patients.
  • Educate customers in navigating EHR systems to achieve their needs as it relates to appropriate product setup, codes, order sets, protocols and workflow.
  • Compliantly deliver education related to common EHR gaps.
  • Lead specific projects and programs to advance the effectiveness of customer interactions as it relates to supporting their needs for efficient and appropriate product selection and management across their EHR.
  • Lead and support the build of tools to facilitate delivery of support on product setup and patient journeys for inpatient and outpatient medication.
  • Identify implications, threats, and opportunities as a result of the rapid adoption of Health IT by our customers. Educate internal stakeholders about customers' digital needs and processes.
  • Identify ways to preserve integrity of our brands' benefit and formulary tiering by addressing inaccuracies in formulary information when transmitted electronically to the EHR. Work with the large provider(s) associated with the IDN (affiliates/employed) to turn on the drop-down menus for mutually agreed to therapeutic options.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% may be required.


You will need to have:


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Six (6) to eight (8) years’ experiences in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a healthcare system working with EHR’s.
  • Knowledge in multiple Health Information Technology Systems.
  • Proficiency in EHR build and front-end usage (Epic, Cerner, etc.).
  • Certification in one or more EHR systems is highly preferred.
  • Possess the understanding of clinical workflows, and care coordination.
  • Ability to connect Alexion/AZ business priorities at tangible level to broader trends in Health IT.
  • Ability to extract business implications and take action on them within the organization.
  • Organization, planning, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Strong oral, written, and group communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of energy and passionate.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in a field environment.
