Follow Up Counselor - Bilingual Spanish (Olympic Suicide Prevention Center)

This position is fully remote. Schedule will vary with multiple shifts available. Part time and full time applicants encouraged to apply. The pay for this position is $26.00 per hour with a $3.00 overnight differential.

Didi Hirsch has a variety of daytime, evening and overnight shifts available. Our work schedules are subject to change as necessary to meet the Agency’s and its client's needs. Reasonable notice is provided to facilitate personal planning.

Summary

Provides telephone follow-up and assistance in English and Spanish to individuals in crisis.

Primary Duties

  • Contacts callers, emergency department discharges, and suicide attempt survivors, for intake, to assess risk, provide referrals for mental health and other related services, and assist in linkage to services.
  • Contacts mental health service providers to help callers secure services.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed call reports.
  • Fulfills continuing education requirements as requested or required for the agency and the Suicide Prevention Center Division.
  • Attends routinely scheduled meetings as requested or required for the Suicide Prevention Center follow-up Program.
  • Monitors and measures client progress against safety plan and stated goals as it applies to outpatient mental health documentation.
  • Responsible for chart documentation and status reports, ensures client documentation is accurate and submitted within the established timeframe.
  • 988 Follow Up Counselors provide telephone assistance to Spanish speaking individuals in crisis. $3.00 hourly additionally will be paid for shifts worked overnight. Candidates must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and are required to complete SPC 988 Hotline Training.


Position Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Successful completion of the SPC training program.
  • Must have completed ASIST training.
  • Knowledge of all job specific skills including lethality assessment, data collection and call triage.
  • Ability to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Efficiently use the personal computer to include word processing and all crisis line related software.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, interact well with others, and avoid personal conflicts.
  • Support the values and mission of Didi Hirsch as related to employment.
  • Know and comply with Agency policies, procedures, HIPAA, and other state, federal regulations relating to emergency mental health services.
  • Demonstrates commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies.
  • Adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge.
  • Must be 18 years old or older.
