About The Role

We are seeking a talented part-time Editorial Writer to join our team and create engaging, informative, and high-ranking articles that help parents navigate raising a child. We cover everything from sleep, solids, milestones, potty training, and more as part of our mission to help families flourish, so this candidate should have some experience writing about child development and parenting.

The right person for this role should have a strong understanding of SEO best practices and know how to balance it with personality while matching brand tone and voice. They have experience creating new content and performing regular optimizations. They also understand how to paraphrase expertise in a way that’s comprehensible and helpful to busy parents.

Huckleberry’s content is trusted across the world. Everything we create is in collaboration with and medically reviewed by our team of experts, including pediatricians, OB-GYNs, sleep consultants, and more. Our content is always clear, informative, and compassionate, with a strong dose of relatability and humor.

This is a fully remote, 20-hours-per-week (flexible hours), 12-month contract opportunity.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Write well-researched and relatable articles that support parents through child development and raising a healthy family
  • Implement SEO best practices in new and existing articles to meet search standards
  • Conduct interviews with pediatric experts to ensure accuracy and relevance
  • Balance technical with personality, matching our brand's tone, style, and editorial guidelines
  • Collaborate with Brand Editorial team and SEO vendors on optimization projects that align with our broader content strategy
  • Write copy for engaging assets (i.e., charts, bullet points, infographics, etc.) to support written articles


Requirements

  • Over 5 years of proven experience in SEO writing, preferably specializing in child development or parenting content
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEO best practices and technical skills
  • Strong sense of editorial voice
  • Content Management Systems (CMS) experience


Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $30 - $45 per hour dependent on experience
