Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications to identify additional material requirements for extra works. (P&ID, Electrical Drawings, Cable Tray Drawings etc….)
- Collaborate with Procurement teams to gather current pricing and availability information.
- Prepare detailed material quantity take-offs and estimates based on project needs.
- Manhours Estimation: Work closely with project managers and Construction teams to understand the scope of extra works.
- Utilize historical data and industry benchmarks to estimate labor requirements for the identified tasks.
- Consider factors such as complexity, skill levels, and project conditions in determining manhour estimates.
- Combine material and manhour estimates to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for extra works.
- Regularly update and refine cost estimates based on project developments and changes.
- Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, project managers, and procurement specialists, to gather relevant information for estimation.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of the materials and manhours required for extra works.
- Prepare detailed documentation of the estimation process, including material take-offs, labor calculations, and assumptions.
- Maintain organized records of estimated costs, supporting documentation, and any changes made during the estimation process.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material pricing, and labor productivity to enhance the accuracy of estimations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in the estimation workflow to optimize efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in estimating materials and manhours for electrical and instrumentation projects.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for estimation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
