Summary of Position

The Vice President of Commercial Sales oversees and directs all commercial sales operations at Guardian Alarm. The VP of Commercial Sales will create sales strategies and set sales goals that will ensure the commercial sales operations meet or exceed the overall profitability and growth goals of the entire organization.


Essential Functions

  • Build and lead a high performance commercial sales organization.
  • Outline and manage commercial sales budgets for the entire organization.
  • Develop and execute the company's commercial sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Build and manage a high-performing commercial sales team, including sales managers, account executives, and sales development representatives.
  • Create and implement commercial sales processes and methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, install, service, and customer operations, to ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings to inform product and pricing strategies.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics to track and measure sales performance.
  • Continuously assess and improve sales training and development programs.
  • Provide regular reporting and sales forecasting to the executive team.


Required Skills & Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling a B2B sales organization
  • Deep understanding of B2B services sales, with experience in complex sales cycles and enterprise level contracts.
  • Strong working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the market.
  • Excellent leadership, team building, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Great strategic planning, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
  • Data driven mindset with proficiency in sales analytics and reporting tools.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation and growth


Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent working experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a sales leadership position.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a selling role and with sales technology and CRM software.
  • 3 years in a senior sales leadership role preferred.
