Senior Accountant

Job Description

FPM is seeking a Senior Accountant

In this role the qualified candidate will be responsible for overall month end financial statement closing activities including all journal entries, allocations, accruals and amortizations. General ledger account reconciliations. Financial statement preparation to include Operating Statement, Balance Sheet and the Statement of Cash Flows. Ensure the accuracy of FPM financial statements.

JOB RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE:

Administration of the Sage Financial Software.

Capital project progress reporting.

Fixed asset software management including book and tax depreciation schedules.

Sales and use tax reporting.

Participate in annual budget preparation process.

Generate monthly sales reports from Sage accounting system.

Ensure annual reports and other company licensing is submitted timely.

Oversight of purchase orders to ensure that all receipts within the month are recorded in the system properly.

Assist Controller with periodic cash forecasting.

Confirm sales reporting between production and financial systems monthly.

Trial balance reconciliation.

Natural gas and electric usage/cost tracking.

Assist with preparation of monthly operations reporting for each facility.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years’ experience in a multi-unit reporting environment.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel and Word a must.

Experience with Sage Financials and/or Visual Shop Production software a plus.

Solid understanding of GAAP application in financial reporting.

Accounting/Finance undergraduate degree required.

Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
