Salary Schedule

Under general direction, the purpose of this position is to perform district-based duties associated with processing business and other operational records. Some analysis of solutions to situations is necessary to complete work; department resource for procedural direction for support staff. Employee will also perform a variety of specific duties including collecting, reviewing, and tracking accident data, managing a database, preparing cost analysis, preparing various reports and training functions. This is a critical job in the transportation Safety and Training area. Perform related work as directed.

Examples Of Essential Functions

Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.

Receive, process and complete incoming request from school staff, conduct video reviews and provide formal correspondence in a timely manner according to established standards and protocols.

Coordinate workload and schedules of clerical support staff when necessary for vacations, lunch time etc.

Perform various technical and administrative duties in supporting daily district transportation safety/training activities.

Receive and respond to customer complaints or inquiries; provide resolution or directs to appropriate entity.

Advise workgroup of departmental policies and procedures. Assist with developing SOP’s for Safety and Training

Provide guidance and train employees in workgroup.

Assist in the compilation, analysis, and verification of crash reports and student incident reports. Input data into IndustrySafe program and process Safe Driver Plan documentation.

Prepare and maintain payroll reporting, such as weekly payroll schedule, activity field trip schedule, missed punch forms and extra time.

Responsible for scanning employee leaves to Personnel/Payroll in a timely manner.

Prepare daily absentee list for assigned area.

Diagnose, track and solve hardware and software problems providing technical support, as needed.

May be responsible for contacting the district’s worker's compensation offices to schedule light duty workers and coordinate the logistics.

Research and conduct analysis of data and videos to prepare district-level reports, such as customer satisfaction surveys, video reports, monthly crash reports, workers compensation injury reports, stop arm violations, road closures and training class progress.

Coordinate and schedule new training classes and dexterity testing. Responsible for preparing packets of transportation material for each driver/monitor. Distribute paperwork to training staff, such as monthly schedules and training packets.

Perform less routine clerical duties as needed.

Provide backup for other staff positions within the Safety and Training department such as conducting training classes, dexterity testing, hazardous walking reviews and 2-mile measurements.

Monitor the use of the copy machine, fax machines, printers, and other office equipment; may call for routine maintenance and repairs.

May assist with travel arrangements for staff and administrators.

Operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data; utilize word processing, database, and software programs, such as Skyward, SAP, Tyler Routing programs, wireless video download programs, AVL, Kronos, IndustrySafe, and TransFleet.

Retrieve video hard drive from buses, download and/or view videos of any incident/crash as requested by management.

Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.

Minimum Training And Experience

High school diploma or GED; supplemented by up to three (3) years previous experience and/or training in an office environment, or three (3) years of experience in pupil transportation, or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions. Must possess a valid FL Driver License.

Data Utilization Requires the ability to calculate, compute, summate, and/or tabulate data and/or information. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations.

Human Interaction Requires the ability to apply principles of persuasion and/or influence.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.

Verbal Aptitude Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to calculate decimals and percentages; may require ability to utilize principles of fractions and/or interpret graphs.

Functional Reasoning Requires ability to apply principles of rational systems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.

Situational Reasoning Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.

ADA COMPLIANCE

Physical Ability Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some climbing and balancing, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Sensory Requirements Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.

Environmental Factors Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
