We are looking for a Sales Manager to lead our field-based Electrochemistry Sales team. The ideal candidate may be in the Greater Houston area or in the Northeast region and live within commutable distance to an airport.

The Sales Manager – Electrochemistry leads and guides the sales team to profitably meet and exceed sales targets within their assigned territory. The Sales Manager manages all aspects of running an efficient sales team; including hiring, leading, coaching, developing, and utilizing appropriate corrective action, as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Prioritizes coaching & performance management efforts to have the greatest overall impact on business results, including but not limited to team sales/service quotas.
  • Sets clear performance goals and provides regular feedback and support.
  • Proactively analyzes sales metrics and performance data of the team.
  • Recruits, hires, and develops associates in conjunction with Sales Director.
  • Positively impacts performance of individual sales team members by implementing field support tools including account and territory planning and communication.
  • Uses SPIN selling skills and concepts to coach sales reps on sales opportunities.
  • Leads team forecasting efforts; effectively utilizes CRM and coaches team on best practices.
  • Effectively manages discounting, cost center of direct reports and overall territory.
  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships.
  • Establishes and maintains productive relationships with field marketing, business development, strategic account teams.
  • Fosters a close partnership with Marketing; provides market and competitive feedback to Product Management.
  • Accountable for implementation of all customer-related initiatives.
  • Responsible for reinforcing company initiatives and current sales methodology.
  • Handling and resolving customer escalations regarding a product or service.
  • Recommend achievable product and service quotas aligned with overall business objectives.

Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent required; minimum three to four (3-4) years of industry-related sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing teams preferred, including hiring, coaching, training, and managing performance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate sales metrics and data, identify trends and sales patterns.
  • Solid planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced time management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to travel 30-50%.
  • Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable Motor Vehicle Report.
