Food Safety Coordinator/QA Lab Supervisor you will be responsible developing, implementing and maintaining all aspects of food safety, regulatory and quality assurance programs for our company. This includes monitoring and ensuring compliance with HACCP, FSMA regulatory requirements and SQF Standards by all departments and overseeing the laboratory operation in a fast-paced, 24/7 seasonal food manufacturing environment. The QA Lab Supervisor responsibilities are in effect during the months of June-October.
Essential Functions/Duties
Participate in internal, SQF, customer and regulatory audits, analyze results and gather corrective action plans for non-conformances.
Promote good culture change towards behavioral quality and food safety improvements.
Assist with maintaining the quality/food safety hold programs & work with operational and warehouse supervisors on prioritizing actions.
Perform routine internal inspections to identify and communicate Food Safety System conformances.
Maintain HACCP, Internal Auditor, SQF practitioner and PCQI certificates.
Complete forms relating to general food safety, corrective actions, departmental maintenance of the food safety program and customer request for vendor/supplier documents.
Demonstrate excellent skills in teamwork, problem solving and decision making, communication and leadership, organization, motivation to achieve results and ability to motivate others.
Conduct food safety program related trainings with all related department to address the food safety and quality system needs.
Oversee the supervision and maintenance of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Food Safety/Quality Procedures, Laboratory Testing Procedures, Product Specifications, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safety Program Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Responsible for performing various verification and validations of food safety programs and procedures.
Direct and supervise the quality assurance technicians, including the scheduling and coverage needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; must be able to work all shifts and/or weekends as needed, Computer skills are required in Windows, Microsoft Office including and not limited to Word, Excel, and Publisher, Position is a full time, requiring excellent attendance and punctuality; bilingual in Spanish and English

Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations; Write reports, business correspondences and procedure manuals; must be able to work and maintain effective communication and respond to direct reports, seasonal staff, managers, clients, and customers; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Education And/Or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or related field or a minimum of three years related Food Safety and/or Quality Experience in the Food, Beverage Industry and/or Supervisory level experience in the Food, Beverage Industry.
Licenses/Certifications
HACCP training and certificate preferred; SQF or other GFSI standard and FSMA PCQI certificate or knowledge preferred.
Work Environment
Exposure to hot, wet, humid, dry or windy conditions caused by weather. Work in high traffic areas, moving bins, pallets with empty drums; exposure to high levels of noise.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Pay Range: $22-$28/hr
