Overview

Serves on the Executive Leadership Team and participates in strategic executive-level planning of marketing; advertising; Customer Relationship Management (CRM); promotions and entertainment; customer and marketing analytics; direct marketing; Player’s Club, hosting, and loyalty programs. Provides vision and guidance on the evolution of digital transformation to include mobile apps, websites, online gaming, CRM, digital channels, kiosks, and transactional systems (gaming, hotel, F&B, retail, gas, etc.) through data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure profitability in all areas described above.
  • Works alongside the Chief Operations Officer (COO) to align on-brand, marketing, and transformational strategies that include emerging technology including digital marketing.
  • Oversight of the Marketing, Entertainment, and Player Development department and Team Members.
  • Develops and executes short and long-term marketing plans to support property profit growth; creates and adheres to budget guidelines as approved by the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Achieves appropriate customer profitability in all reinvestment areas: offers, promotions, entertainment, and special events.
  • Responsible for overseeing the delivery of the company’s brand promise while building and executing programs to acquire, retain, and grow customers to the resort property.
  • Ensures policies, procedures, and regulations are adhered to and monitored.
  • Provides leadership in reviewing the Marketing department’s policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective execution.
  • Seeks out marketing opportunities and strategies to remain competitive in the industry.
  • Standardizes and centralizes the internal controls and monitoring systems for all marketing efforts across the Enterprise.
  • Monitors and approves proformas for new programs, reviews results from historical programs, and adjusts programs based on those results.
  • Acts as Master of Ceremonies as needed.
  • Keeps a strong line of communication with Marketing Team and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Maintains awareness of changes in the marketplace that may impact the nature of promotions planned. Recognizes and develops new opportunities to continually enhance Marketing and the customer experience.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with all operating departments.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and outside agencies.
  • Builds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, collaboration, performance feedback/management, and Team Member satisfaction while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Promotions, Hospitality, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Twelve years of progressive marketing experience directing a marketing department and or agency.
  • Casino and/or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in computers including Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.

  • Written Communication: Expressing ideas and opinions clearly in properly structured, well organized, and grammatically correct reports or documents; utilizing language and terminology that is understandable for the reader.
  • Oral Communication: Shaping and expressing ideas and information in an effective manner.
  • People Development: Having the ability to assess skill strengths and weaknesses of individuals and teams in order to determine what actions are appropriate to build and/or improve the needed skills.
