We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented School Bursar to join our Nursery School's team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our nursery school, ensuring financial stability and contributing to the strategic planning and development of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Payroll Administration: Manage payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment of staff salaries.
  • Accounting: Maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, and handle accounts payable and receivable.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and school policies.
  • Budget Preparation: Prepare annual budgets in collaboration with the Headteacher and governing body.
  • Resource Allocation: Monitor and manage the allocation of resources to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Liaison: Act as a liaison with external auditors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support: Provide financial advice and support to the Headteacher and governing body.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably within an educational setting.
  • A relevant financial qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
