[edit]

This article was first copied from Hedyot in the Jewish Encyclopedia, per Wikipedia:Jewish Encyclopedia topics. Then the templates were added for the reference list and within the in-line citation. Next, the JE text was revised.

It be great if somebody would check this to avoid a copyvio tag. @Diannaa or @Sphilbrick, perhaps you'd consider doing this, given our recent discussion of the process. Of course, fine if you'd rather not. Thanks, ProfGray (talk) 17:28, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's great. You did good. But I would not add the {{Jewish Encyclopedia|wstitle= HEDYOṬ}} if the inline citation template is used. It's redundant. Of the two templates, the inline citation template would be my preference, as the specific text that was copied is marked. That way the reader can determine which material was copied and which was written by a Wikipedian. Diannaa (talk) 19:47, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Overlapping text might still be flagged by CopyPatrol, but savvy patrollers will see the attribution template and mark the case as a false positive. Earwig's tool will also detect the presence of a source-attribution template and alert patrollers with a message. Here is an example. Of course mistakes by patrollers might still occur.
