Ko te Kānuka he rākau whakaruruhau o Aotearoa. He āhua rite ki tō te Mānuka engari ko te tupu he rahi noa atu. Ko ngā pua he mā anō hoki, engari, he ririki ake. Ki ētahi, he ingoa reo Māori anō tō te rākau nei, arā he Mānuka rauriki. Ko te ingoa pūtaiao he Kunzea ericoides; ko te ingoa pūtaiao tawhito he Leptospermum ericoides kē. Ko te ingoa reo Pākehā he White teatree.
