Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stephen Schwartz. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Same-sex marriage  with this edit, without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 08:20, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Copied from my talk page to keep the conversation on one page. Jim1138 (talk) 09:12, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Jim1138.
I don't quite understand why you reverted my edit on same-sex marriage. No content was removed, I moved or added content but I didn't remove any. Jedi Friend (talk) 09:05, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you removed two citations from the 2013 paragraph here and did not leave an wp:edit summary as to why. If you only moved them, I would think you should "reuse" the citations. See Help:Footnote, specifically WP:REFNAME. Please, use an edit summary. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 09:12, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please wp:ping me and others to keep the thread on one page. Preface your talk with {{ping|Jim1138}} (for me / leave off the tlx) add your comment, sign and save all three with the same save page. Otherwise the ping may not go out. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 09:14, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Jim1138:, I moved both citations to same-sex marriage#United States. Excuse me for not using an edit summary, I'll try to always use one from now on. Jedi Friend (talk) 09:21, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Is the citation valid for that 2013 section? If so, it should have a cite too. You can "reuse" a citation: <ref name= bozo>{{cite web ... yada, yada, yada...}}</ref> then <ref name= bozo/>. Note the slash "/". If the name has a space, enclose in quotes - Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).[1] AdamPrideTN (talk) 15:58, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Same-sex marriage in Uruguay

[edit]

Hello As usual just a mere suggestion When u can take a look https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrimonio_entre_personas_del_mismo_sexo_en_Uruguay

The Equevalent of the Same-sex marriage in Uruguay in Spanish which is a very good eich page that even has the table of votes of the senate and house of representatives along with many sourced infos about political support and public public opinion and statistics that can be searched too from the net and all That can help expand and update the english page. (NB : idk why that link for italian civil unions keeps showing up)

And oh also please i need some help

Please check my latest update on the adoption section in LGBT rights in Uruguay page This source did not want to work and the mi'ister promised legislative changes per sources I want to find did these changes were implemented or voted upon

Writing randomly in google here i found these words and this source

https://legislativo.parlamento.gub.uy/temporales/docu5820167745502.HTML

Did she do it can u look up more please were there any changes implemented

I found this https://legislativo.parlamento.gub.uy/temporales/leytemp8080328.htm

Is it the legal modification did it pass is it the one? I dont think so. It has no date. Help please

Cheers! AdamPrideTN (talk) 08:58, 31 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, Thank you for the update in chart, I agree that yours is more easy to read but what I was trying to express in the chart was how the number of partnerships is increasing hence having the time series. If that can be expressed in a chart in the format you have created, that's greate but for the time being, I'm going to revert it. Just to make sure that your work isn't lost, I've pasted it below for you as well. Paullb (talk) 05:44, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I agree, I also like having a time series chart, but I feel as though the current one is a bit difficult to navigate around. Also, what bothers me a bit is the dates seem quite random. I think it would be better to have more generic dates, "2017", "2018", "2019", for example, rather than specific months. Unfortunately, I've been looking for quite a while now for such numbers and can't find anything. Which is why, I decided to use a chart which shows the latest available statistics, which can then be updated whenever new info is published, rather than a time series one. Jedi Friend (talk) 08:38, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the dates do seem a bit random, it's bascially whenever Nijiro Diversity decides to do it. They are a pretty small organisation. I've looking forward to a big jump in the numbers with Osaka Prefecture and Yokohama City. Perhaps a staked line graph would be easier to read? I'm okay with just the year at the bottom of the chart. Paullb (talk) 04:11, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, sorry to butt in, but I'm curious if it should perhaps be clarified on the page that the statistics come from the sporadically released reports from Niji Diversity? Many readers will likely not be aware that they're pretty much the only organisation that has been releasing statistics for all of Japan and might end up confused by the seemingly random dates. Deviantdreamer (talk) 20:21, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Paullb:, @Deviantdreamer:. I recently discovered that if you use the mobile version of wiki with a phone the names and numbers of each prefecture do not appear at all. I personally would much prefer to use the chart I proposed, with instead texts describing the increase in partnerships (which Paullb has removed for some reason). For example: "The number of partnerships certificates issued to same-sex couples has increased over the years, from 319 in late November 2018, 426 in April 2019, 617 in November 2019 to 759 in January 2020." I believe this would be much clearer and also friendlier for mobile users. Jedi Friend (talk) 16:22, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that a blurb about Nijiiro would be useful and noting the sporadicness of the updates. I thought having a running textual description of the number of registered partners was getting a bit out of hand with the number of updates and wasn't really adding anything to the article, so I replaced it with a summary. If you feel the text descriptions added value, please bring them back Paullb (talk) 05:45, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Alabama Map update

[edit]

I have looked through the new 2019 employee handbook for montgomery, alabama and saw that they have changed: sexual attraction to sexual orientation and the addition of gender identity to the employment practices and hiring non-discrimination. This means that the montgomery city info in the alabama lgbtq protections page (done) and the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_and_counties_in_the_United_States_offering_an_LGBT_non-discrimination_ordinance still-to-do. I still need to change the SO and GI employment protections map in alabama and I'm kind of afraid to, I've never really edited visuals before. What program should I use, how do you usually do it or could you do it when you get the chance? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Owlyra (talkcontribs) 21:09, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yucatan

[edit]

Hi!

AFAICT, the legislation to legalize SSM hasn't even been introduced into Congress, and won't be until next term at the earliest. So, AFAICT, there is no "legislation". The only thing that will be published is the bill changing the constitution. We have some RS's saying this will make SSM legal, and other RS's saying it won't. Once the bill is published, SSM will no longer be unconstitutional, but it will still be against the law. Yucatan will then be like the other 10 states where SSM is illegal. The question is whether the clerks will ignore the law and allow SSM anyway, as they do in Chihuahua and Chiapas. Some sources say yes, some say no. — kwami (talk) 19:42, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

[edit]
Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
