[edit]Please stop reverting the redirects at Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man (film series), as the articles were created without consensus. A WP:SPLIT is only useful when material at the target differs from the original material, but the text was merely a duplication of Spider-Man in film and a dangerous WP:CONTENTFORK. It appears that you tried to give Bad (tour) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. As it happens to be, we've been through this numerous times, both on the talk page of the article/template itself (amongst other places), as well as on Talk:Armenia. It's not a European country, and the consensus on Wiki is as well that it's an Asian country. It's fully geographically in Asia. Also adding "cultural links" to the note section is a POV based addition and holds no ground, for many regions outside of Europe have links to it. There's no map based on geography that includes it in Europe. Please don't edit this again, otherwise I'll have to request page protection, for this matter is basic triffle for moderators who have to go through this particular matter every once in a while. - Thank you for doing that. I'll admit my last message may have appeared a bit heavy-handed so please accept by apologies for that and I'll try to give you a more detailed explanation for you as best I can.
- WP:OPENPARA states: "In most modern-day cases this will mean the country of which the person is a citizen, national or permanent resident, or if notable mainly for past events, the country where the person was a citizen, national or permanent resident when the person became notable."
- The subject was born and brought up in England therefore she is a British citizen, and her parents are from Bangladesh. The subject is both a permanent resident of the UK and has become notable in the UK not Bangladesh. Therefore, "Bangladeshi-English actress and model" is not only misleading but contradictory, and "English actress and model of Bangladeshi descent" is more accurate and appropriate.
- Nationality is different from ethnicity. Bangladeshi categories can be used but as I've said there needs to be reliable sources supporting the subject being Bangladeshi (i.e a national, citizen or permanent resident). In absence of this only the country of her birth should be used. If she was born in Bangladesh and moved to England then it would be a different matter. The Category:English people of Bangladeshi descent is used for subjects who are born is England and is of Bangladeshi descent which is what best describes Miss Azad.

- No worries. I accept your apology. I will also explain it in more detail. Bangladeshi-English describes what she is: A Bangladeshi person who is a UK citizen. It is not misleading or contradictory. While she was born and raised in England (hence English in Bangladeshi-English) and became notable in the UK (I would argue worldwide since of the success and outreach of the Harry Potter films), not having Bangladeshi citizenship doesn't erase that part of her (hence Bangladeshi in Bangladeshi-English). I'm not totally against "English actress and model of Bangladeshi descent" but I feel "Bangladeshi-English" gets straight to the point. Here's a definition of nation that does not equate to country: "A large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular state or territory." Of course a group of people from the same area can move somewhere else but will still be united by common descent, history, culture, or language. England is not an independent country. It is part of the United Kingdom which is why I added it. In Wikipedia, a person's birthplace usually contains the city, administrative division(s) and country. Second, this is obviously a grammar improvement, so there should be no objection to the change. I'm going to restore the edit I made once again, but if you still disagree with it, let's lay it out on the article's talk page. The style is used not only in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Man of Steel but also in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. I used those examples in the restoration edit. Since this was the original lead before you changed it and you are the one asking for a change, leave it until it is discussed. The reasoning is not just because it has been that way for months. Nobody seemed to have a problem with it except you. I don't see how it is an obvious "grammar improvement". The problem with sticking to the mantra that other films are this way, is that any attempt to change one of them will result in, "hey, look at the others, they're all this way". Cast/characters lists
[edit]Take a good look at the articles you linked and see the difference from what you put. Notice how they have the name of the actor, followed by the character name, then a colon, then a break and indentation and description. In the beginning (like before the film is released), when there's just a short description, it's just a regular bulleted list with sentence fragments and commas. Then later, when there are longer description, we change it to the break style. I don't revert other editor's edits for no good reason. - @Musdan77 The beginning versions of those articles also used the name of the actor, character name, colon and description even when it was just a short description. (See example 1, 2, 3). I also don't revert other editor's edits for no good reason. You said to "Learn to follow WP:BRD, and find out why you're reverted instead of edit warring" while you're the one who started to edit war by reverting my edits without knowing why I reverted your edits. You delinked Wonder Woman and changed the colon to a comma so I relinked Wonder Woman and changed the comma back to a colon in my edits. I wasn't changing it to break style. I do trust you and I'm glad that you took time to come here and explain your reasoning. I'm going to expand the article now which will now use break style since it will have longer descriptions and you can check it out and tell me what you think. Sounds like a plan? - 1) Well, whoever added those didn't know what they're doing. Definitely not correct grammar/style. (2) On April 27, you made the style change from the correct way it had been from the beginning. The following day, I reverted that along with other corrections such as removing a repeated cite and a repeated link (Wonder Woman was already linked in the previous "Premise" section until someone removed that section—which I'm not sure they should have). Then you went against BRD (and WP:REVEXP, WP:ROWN, etc.) by completely reverting my edit without giving any reason at all. (3) Now, your latest changes are better, but still not quite right. You've got some character descriptions in with cast info in the same paragraphs. - @Musdan77 1) They are edited by other experienced editors. I don't think it's incorrect grammar/style. Here's some other articles in the beginning. (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron Doctor Strange) 2) I changed the comma to a colon so it will have the same style like the other films. I also think the premise shouldn't have been removed. Even though characters are linked in the premise, they are also linked in the cast section. I didn't gave a reason because it seemed like an odd edit, almost like vandalism, to delinked the character and removed the periods so I changed it back to the way it was before and the reason you gave was "Clean up and copy edit". But now I know your reasoning. 3) Thanks for acknowledging this edit is better than my previous edit. Character descriptions and cast info do go in the same paragraph. - 1) Just because an editor is experienced doesn't mean they know everything. It most definitely is bad grammar -- and goes against MOS. WP:EMBED says that when these are all sentence fragments (as those were), they don't end in a period, and only the first word or proper nouns are capitalized (not the word following the colon -- unless it has "the break"). (2) WP:REPEATLINK says, "A link should appear only once in an article, but if helpful for readers, a link may be repeated in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, hatnotes, and at the first occurrence after the lead." And since we're talking about a "Cast" list (not a characters list), the cast members should be linked, but not necessarily the characters. You should always give an edit summary, but especially when reverting (and see WP:AGF). (3) I don't watch those articles much (or at all). I could make the correct changes now, but it's harder to do after it's been like that for awhile, than when it's first done. And anyway, we can't really compare articles with each other. Every sequel to a movie is casually referred to as "(the movie's name) 2." That doesn't make it the official title and thus shouldn't be advertised as such. It would have been illogical for me to call the next film Justice League 4 when there has only been one film in the series. Like I said, we have an instance of a producer, Charles Roven, calling the film Justice League 2. When the film does get release and it isn't called Justice League 2 then we'll change it to its correct name. After The Avengers was release and a sequel was announced, people were calling it The Avengers 2, including here on Wikipedia. When the title was revealed to be Avengers: Age of Ultron, the title was changed to the new title. Justice League 2 will be called Justice League 2 until a new title is revealed. Voting at AfD
[edit]Hello Dash9Z, when you vote at AfD (Article for Deletion), the convention is that you put your vote at the beginning of the sentence, and make the vote bold. That way, the editor closing the AfD can get an easier overview what the community thinks. Throwing the word 'keep' into the middle of a sentence makes it prone to being overlooked, especially when you indent your contribution; it may then be seen as merely a reply to somebody else's vote. You might want to go back to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Danish New Zealanders and either edit what you previously wrote, or put a new vote "for clarity" at the bottom of the list. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Bilateral relation intros
[edit]Please don't reinsert those stereotyped "X refers to X" lead sentences in bilateral relations articles. They are horribly tautological and as such nonsensical. There is also no "standard" to have them. What there is is a bad habit to have them, because editors can't think of anything better. The problem with bilateral relations articles has always been this: back in the old days, we used to have a smallish number of decently written bilateral relations articles, mostly on those pairs of states where bilateral relations are actually politically notable (like Greek-Turkish relations or Franco-German relations). Then some people came along and mechanically mass-created articles on as many additional pairs as they could think of. In most of these cases, they had nothing interesting whatsoever to say about those relations, so the articles were mostly meaningless stubs full of mechanical boilerplate – just like those lead sentences. Ever since then, well-meaning editors who value uniformity over quality have been going round, seeing all the hundreds of bad stubs, thinking that because of their large number they must form some kind of standard that others should also adhere to, and trying to bring the small remaining number of actually meaningful articles down to the level of the lot. [edit]He wasn't the "acting President" as far as I can determine, and as far as the cited sources say. Maybe at one point the sources referred to him that way, but if so they have been updated. Just as it is incorrect to call the Camerlengo of the Church "acting Pope" during a papal vacancy, the Haitian constitution uses "President of Haiti" only in reference to an elected president. Looking back at changes to the lead of Europe, particular the first paragraph, I noticed that you had improved the opening sentence in 2017.[5] It has subsequently been modified quite a bit.
Today you made two changes to the lead sentences of Europe and Asia without edit summaries.[6] Was there any reason for removing phrases like "westernmost peninsula" or "landmass"? The inline citation is to the EB, with exactly the same words.

- @Mathsci Yes, because Europe is more than just the peninsulas (Iberian, Scandinavian, etc.) There are mass areas in Europe that aren't peninsulas and there are islands nearby which are part of Europe. Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in being blocked from editing—especially as the page in question is currently under restrictions from the Arbitration Committee, if you violate the one-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than one revert on a single page with active Arbitration Committee restrictions within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the one-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the one-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.--Asqueladd (talk) 19:57, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
