This is the weakness of Wikipedia: once a link in the internet is credited as a source, it can survive later corrections. The 2011 link (saying Ring's mother is German) in RevierSport is incorrect. Their info is simply false, perhaps a misunderstanding. Everybody who know the person in question (Mrs. Anne Maria Ring) know that she's a Finn, hailing from Finland and living there. She can be reached through her social media accounts to confirm this. Also the now deleted Finnish source confirms RevierSport's error (which was in turn copied to Rheinische Post, and maybe also others). The best way to avoid this kind of disinfo to spread is to not write it in Wikipedia. I thus propose that the definition of the nationality to be left out, rather than to retain a disputed (false) info. 37.219.246.110 (talk) 10:48, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'll copy the sources here: [1][2] Now we're in a situation where we have two reliable sources (Rheinische Post and RevierSport) that clearly say that Ring's mother is German. You claim that this source [3] confirms that there's an error - but how exactly? That source says that his mother wanted to return to Finland where Ring was born but nothing about the mother's nationality. I think we can restore the information about his parents, unless of course someone finds a reliable source that say his mother isn't German. If you wish, you can contact RevierSport and Rheinische Post and ask them to correct their news articles. 211.21.23.71 (talk) 18:36, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. See WP:Verifiability, not truth and WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS. Sungodtemple a tcg fan!!1!11!! (talk) 22:51, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Rheinische Post's info is incorrect (the other is probably copied from it). I know this, because I know the person in question personally, and know that she's not German, has never been, and will obviously never become one. Since there's the dispute about the credibility of the Rheinische Post source, the mention of her nationality should be left out, especially as it is not an essential fact in this article. 2001:14BB:C1:ED96:4539:2589:51FA:BFB2 (talk) 13:35, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
