Doreen Manuel (Doreen Mary Manuel) is a First Nations (Secwepemc/Ktunaxa First Nations) writer, producer, and director. Doreen owns and operates Running Wolf Productions [1]..[1]

Education

Doreen graduated from the Aboriginal Film and Television Diploma Program at Capilano University. While there, she received the Governor General of Canada Bronze Medal Award for Academic Excellence. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Thompson Rivers University and is currently a graduate student at the University of British Columbia in the Film Production Graduate program.

Personal Life

Doreen is the daughter of Grand Chief Dr. George Manuel and Marceline Manuel. Her maternal grandmother is Mary Paul.[2]

Films

Doreen was the director, writer, and producer of short films The Fast (2015), Freedom Babies (2014), Lucky Spirits (2013) . She also directed the short film These Walls (2012).[3]

Academic

For the past 13 years, Doreen has worked as the Program Coordinator at Capilano University for the Indigenous Independent Digital Film Making Program [4]
