Do Not add commas to Margaret Lea Houston article
editThis article went through the Featured Article candidacy. Those commas break up the sentences in really awkward ways. Please do not add them again on Margaret Lea Houston. — Maile (talk) 00:40, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the fix of the giant voting map - it was as easy as that! I copied the image from the German Wikipedia (where the informations and discussions are much more exhaustive, by the way) - "mini" is an English word, but no keyword in the template...
Furthermore, do you have material or an idea to rearrange the present information in order to fix the neutrality issue? Even if only partly justified, it can destroy the last chances to get the important news accepted for the start page. (But I have to finish for tonight.) Comma campaign
editHello- It appears you have some misconceptions about how commas are used in English. Please discontinue your campaign of adding commas where they don't belong. There are many resources available to help you learn their proper use. Here's one on the Oxford Dictionary site. Eric talk 23:18, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Battle of Molino del Rey, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Francisco Pérez and Antonio León (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Punctuation edit
editWell, I stand corrected! I apologize for undoing your edit, though I must say that stylistically the unpunctuated version seems preferable to me; the style guide says we should parse the "Texas" as a parenthetical, but it certainly isn't an appositive ("Texas" is not an alternative name for "Castroville"), and I would think that for it to be some other kind of parenthetical it would need a preposition or something (e.g. "Castroville, located in south Texas, ..."). I was parsing "Castroville, Texas" as a single (idiomatically structured) noun phrase, after which punctuation of course would not be needed there. Anyway! I find this sort of thing interesting. But, though I think it reads more smoothly without the second comma, I support sticking to an established style guide, and I again apologize for incorrectly "correcting" you. Thanks for your work! :) -Bryanrutherford0 (talk) 14:59, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
Hey, I noticed you restored the date of birth and death, but it doesn't look like you added a citation to show which reliable source these came from. I specifically removed them in the preceding edit because I couldn't find a source which gave a birth year (especially given there are conflicting ages in the death sources), let alone a date. Please can you add the citation to the reliable source in which you found the birth date? Yes, I'm aware your edit summary says frwiki, but I'm assuming you did check the sources they use, right? Cheers! stwalkerster (talk) 10:33, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

editShould the article be nominated again with the alt blurb? I feel it was probably buried cause it's been five days since it was first nominated (it's two days from being archived). EchoLuminary (talk) 23:08, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- EchoLuminary: I'm not sure whether that'd be breaking protocol, but even if it were, it'd draw attention to it (there's been nothing all day, not even from those who said "wait"). So yes, go for it. Moscow Mule (talk) 23:13, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
- I think I'll wait until tomorrow, when it's at the near-bottom of the pile. EchoLuminary (talk) 00:47, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- Follow up to this, looks like it's getting attention so will not be posting it again. EchoLuminary (talk) 17:33, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- OK. Let's see how things develop. Moscow Mule (talk) 18:29, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
